Livingston Township quickly issued an apology Tuesday for the confusion.

A technical glitch has caused some Livingston homeowners to receive tax sale notices by mistake.

Notices will be mailed out to homeowners following the November deadline for fourth-quarter property taxes informing those residnets with past-due accounts that all outstanding amounts must be settled by Friday, Nov. 22. If those accounts are not settled by then, those properties will be included in the annual tax-lien sale.
