NY Man Accused Of Shooting 2 Hotel Workers In Fairfield, NJ
Police charged a man with murder in connection with a double shooting that killed one and wounded another at a hotel in Essex County.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police have charged a New York resident with murder in connection with a double shooting that killed one person and wounded another at a hotel in Fairfield last week, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the shooting took place at the Ramada by Wyndham on Two Bridges Road at 12:27 p.m. on Friday.
Mohammed Sahariar, 28, of Fairfield, and a co-worker were on duty at the time of the shooting.

Sahariar was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:35 p.m. His co-worker was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition, authorities said.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force and the Fairfield Police Department investigated the shooting, eventually identifying Tyrone Malcolm, 39, of Middletown, NY, as the alleged shooter., authorities said.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force and detectives from the prosecutor’s office arrested Malcolm at a residence in Middletown on Wednesday. The New Jersey State Police also aided with the investigation.
Malcolm was charged with murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held in New York pending extradition to New Jersey.
