Winter Walking Club In Livingston Is Free, Open To Adults

Need a friend to walk with? The Livingston Health Department will hold a free Walking Club this winter for people 18 and up.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Need a friend to walk with? The Livingston Health Department will offer a free Walking Club this winter at the Livingston Senior/Community Center.

The Walking Club will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays from Jan. 10 through March 28. There will be no walk on Friday, Jan. 17 or Friday, Feb. 7.

The club is free and open to adults over the age of 18. Participants will meet inside the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue (on the first floor by the left-side entrance of the building). Participants will walk around the first floor for one hour, and everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace.

According to a news release from the township’s health department, walking is a great way to exercise and offers many health benefits. It can help people to maintain a healthy weight, reduce joint pain, improve balance, lower the risk of high blood pressure and more.
