Youth Appreciation Week In Livingston Returns For 29th Year
The week-long series of events celebrates Livingston's youth and recognizes their achievements.

This year marks the 29th-year anniversary of Livingston’s Youth Appreciation Week. This week-long series of events celebrate Livingston’s youth and recognizes their achievements and contributions to the community.
Healthy Community Healthy Youth Initiative of Livingston, Inc. (HCHY) will chair this event for the seventeenth consecutive year. The week-long celebration returns to September after a successful week last year. Alan Karpas, President of HCHY who chairs the events, stated, “Everyone is excited to return to the celebration for our youth and their families’ day.”

Youth Appreciation Week (YAW) kicks off on Sunday, September 14, and runs through Sunday, September 21, 2025. Most of the events are free, and some require pre-registration. All of the information about the events is available on the township website at livingstonnj.org/YouthAppreciation
The well-rounded events for families include a Bike Livingston event, LEGO evening, Parent’s Night Out, a Movie Under the Stars, The Wild One, and a town-wide campout chaired by the Scouts Troop and Packs 12 and 16.

The week of events culminates with a Family Fun Festival at Memorial Oval, Robert H. Harp Drive, on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The Livingston Fire Department Open House, Livingston First Aid Squad Open House, and Livingston Police Department Community Block Party will also partake in the festivities.
“For the second year, the YAW Family Fun Festival will be a part of the Livingston Police Department’s Community Block Party, and we’re delighted with this partnership. Additionally, the Livingston Fire Department and First Aid Squad Open House will move from their original date in October in order to also be a part of the Block Party,” added Karpas.
PARKING
Parking for all four events is available at 357 South Livingston Avenue, 30 Robert H. Harp Drive, and on Madonna Drive and Wahler Road.
