Body Of Missing Swimmer Found In Long Branch: Officials
The body of a swimmer reported missing in Long Branch Sunday evening was found on the beach, authorities said.
LONG BRANCH, NJ - The body of a swimmer reported missing in Long Branch Sunday evening has been found, authorities said.
The body was recovered behind Rooney’s restaurant on the beach around 9:12 p.m. on Sunday, Long Branch Public Safety Director Domingos A. Saldida told Patch.
Two other swimmers were rescued by Long Branch personnel, Saldida said. Both were taken to an area hospital to be examined.

Long Branch Police, Fire and Beach Rescue, as well as the New Jersey State Police, and coast guard were involved in the recovery search, Saldida said.
Akron Ohio Police were notified to make notification to the family. No other description of the deceased is currently available.

The search for the missing swimmer began around 7 p.m., according to the Asbury Park Press.

Of the drowning deaths this season, most happened when people were swimming at unguarded beaches. It wasn't immediately clear if the man found in Long Branch was swimming at a beach without lifeguards. According to the Long Branch city website, swimming is prohibited at unguarded beaches.
A man was pulled from the surf earlier this month at Loveladies Beach in Long Beach; he was later pronounced dead. The beach wasn’t guarded, according to reports.
A Pennsylvania man also died after drowning at another unprotected beach near 12th Street in Ocean City this month, officials said.
