Long Branch To Hold Local Business Resource Fair
The May 12 fair will show local businesses the various grants and programs offered by the city to help businesses during the pandemic.

LONG BRANCH—Mayor John Pallone announced that the city would be hosting a Business Resource Fair tomorrow, May 12, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the new Arts and Cultural Center located at 588 Broadway. Businesses are encouraged to attend to find out about grants and other resources that the city offers.
The Office of Economic and Community Development will be at the fair assisting businesses with all the city's programs to offer local businesses.
“We are doing everything we can to assist our business community. We encourage our businesses to come to the fair or to call our Community Development Department,” Mayor Pallone said.

Some of the programs being offered include:
CARES Act Funds – The City will be offering $5,000 grants to eligible businesses for low to moderate-income people, families, groups, etc., who have been adversely impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic or for low to moderate areas or businesses that the Coronavirus pandemic has adversely impacted.

Urban Enterprise Zone Program (UEZ) – Customers pay 3.475 percent instead of the state sales tax of 6.875 percent. This is a free sign-up program that allows participating businesses to increase customer purchases.
Tax Abatement Program - Business owners can apply for a five-year tax abatement on their property assessment up to $100,000.
Shop Long Branch – Customers who sign up receive a discount on their property taxes.
Community Development Block Grant Funds - for very low to moderate-income individuals, groups, and nonprofits around Long Branch.
