Long Branch Man Charged With Murder Of City Girl, 16: Prosecutor

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Authorities have charged a city man with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old girl on Saturday night, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Bryan Cordero-Castro, 20, 4th Avenue, is in custody and was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and third-degree attempted escape, the prosecutor said.

Long Branch police responded to a call at 10:42 p.m. call reporting the stabbing at 284 Van Pelt Place. The teen was taken to Monmouth Medical Center, where she died at 11:2 p.m. The teen and Cordero Castro knew each other, Gramiccioni said.
