Long Branch Mayoral, City Council Race Coming Up On May 8
Completed maiI-in ballots must be in Monmouth County Clerk's Office by Tuesday

LONG BRANCH, NJ - If you want to submit a mail-in ballot for the municipal election coming up on May 8, you have until Tuesday, May 1, to do it, according to the city's website.
And the ballot must be received by the Monmouth County Clerk's Office by then, not the municipal clerk's office.
State law requires that all mail-in ballots must be received at a county clerk's office seven days before an election. In this case, the election is Tuesday, May 8 and the ballot must be submitted by Tuesday, May 1.

Longtime Mayor Adam Schneider has two competitors running for the seat he has held for almost two decades.
Board of Education member Avery Grant made the March 5 deadline to file for the mayoral slot in the non-partisan city election.
He will join City Council President John Pallone, who announced in February that he planned to challenge Schneider in the race for the four-year term.
Grant ran against challenged Schneider in 2014 but was unsuccesful.
Both Schneider and Pallone are running with a full slate of five candidates for the City Council seats.
The polls are open on May 8 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
