Monmouth To Get Funding From American Relief Plan
The funding will help students who are experiencing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WEST LONG BRANCH – As part of President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which was passed back in March, colleges and universities across the country got emergency funding due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Congressman Frank Pallone announced last week that the colleges in his district would split $210 million and one of those schools is Monmouth University, which will be getting $13,024,725 thanks to the relief bill.
According to the bill, at least half of the funding each institution gets will be emergency cash assistance grants given to students facing hardship due to the pandemic.

“We are grateful to Congressman Frank Pallone, Senators Menendez and Booker, and the other members of the New Jersey Congressional delegation who supported the American Rescue Plan,” university spokeswoman Tara Peters said in a statement.
“This legislation provides critical relief to students and families struggling to continue their education in the face of ongoing financial hardship. It will also go a long way to help stem the significant revenue losses the University has suffered due to the pandemic.”
