Tie It Down, Bring It In: Wind Advisory Issued For Long Branch and Eatontown, Jersey Shore

National Weather Service says winds will be gusting to 45 mph by morning

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory beginning at 4 a.m. and running until 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Nixle alert from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.

The winds will be strong enough that they could cause problems for motorists driving high-profile vehicles like trucks or buses and they could toss around outdoor items such as trash and recycling cans, trampolines, lights and holiday decorations, the alert said.

The National Weather Service advisory predicts winds from the north at 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph, and the strongest winds will be along the coast, it says. The winds will begin to increase after midnight and not die down until late Tuesday afternoon.

The advisory covers Atlantic, Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex and southeastern Burlington County.
