2 New Officers Join The Long Valley Police Department

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Police Department has announced the addition of two new officers to the force.

Patrol Officer Alan Yennie and Patrol Officer Cole Szymanski were officially sworn in by Washington Township Mayor Matthew Murello on Wednesday, July 5.

Both Yennie and Szymanski will now have to attend the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy before officially joining the ranks, authorities said.

"We wish them the best of luck during the next few months at the academy," the Washington Township Police Department said in an online statement.

Following their time in the academy, both Szymanski and Yennie will receive an annual salary of $30,570, according to official township records.

The Washington Township Police Department was established in 1964 with the mission of protecting life and property, enforcing the law fairly and impartially, and maintaining the peace, order, and safety of the community they serve.
