'Aggressive' Teen Arrested After Assault at Minebrook Golf Course Party: Cops
Police responded for intoxicated woman before fight broke out and 19-year-old approached officer.
A 19-year-old from Jersey City was arrested for acting in an “aggressive” manner toward a Washington Township Police Officer who was investigating an alleged assault during a party at Minebrook Golf Course, Lt. Doug Compton announced.
Officer Michael Thompson and Cpl. Michael Hade responded to the Minebrook Golf Course for an intoxicated female asking to be taken to the hospital at 10:16 p.m. on Oct. 9, Compton said. The female was attending a social event at the location, Compton said.
While Thompson was tending to the female, a physical altercation began in the ballroom area between several members of the party, Compton said, and one suffered injuries to his head. The victim was then taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

While Thompson was investigating the assault and interviewing witnesses, Aaron Soriento, 19, approached the officer in an aggressive manner, Compton said. Sariento refused to calm down and would not back away from Thompson despite commands to do so, Compton said.
Sariento was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and later released with a court date.
