Child Porn Found On Long Valley Man's Computer, Police Say

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Morris County man has been arrested on a charge of child pornography possession, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office announced.
John Green, 65, of Washington Township, has been charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child for maintaining a peer-to-peer file-sharing program of child porn, as well as one count of endangering the welfare of a child for possessing child porn.

The investigation began when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office discovered possible child porn on a BitTorrent site in Morris County.
BitTorrent is a file-sharing network that operates on a peer-to-peer basis, police said.

Further investigation revealed numerous media files stored on the BitTorrent site, each depicting the alleged sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor. The investigation also revealed that those media files were available for download.
The BitTorrent is said to have been linked to Green's home, where he lives alone.
A search of Green's electronic devices turned up more suspected child porn on his computer. An initial review revealed over 1,000 items of child porn.
Green is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility, the prosecutor's office said.
