JCP&L Trimming Trees In Long Valley This January

Five roads in town will see their trees cut back in the coming months.

LONG VALLEY, NJ β€” JCP&L has announced vegetation trimming efforts on five different Long Valley roads this January, township officials said.

Trees on Beacon Hill Road, Fairmount Road, Frog Hollow Road, Parker Road, and Pickle Road will be cut back this January. Affected homeowners will be contacted by the electric company's contractor ahead of the efforts.

JCP&L trims trees as part of power line maintenance. Anything that grows within the wire zone (the area directly around the wires, which extends about ten feet on either side) is allowed to be cut back under New Jersey Administrative Code 14:5-9.7.
