New Township Administrator Hired To Manage Long Valley
Washington Township has officially ended its hunt for a new administrator, hiring the mayor of Califon Borough.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township has ended its hunt for a new administrator, a crucial role in the functioning of the local government.
In the end, the township did not have to go that far in their search; all they had to do was walk over to neighboring Califon and hire the mayor.
Charles Daniel has been officially announced as the next Township Administrator, according to Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello.

Daniel has served as the mayor of Califon for the past 15 years.
Califon is a town in Hunterdon County. The borough's population was 1,005 as of the 2020 United States Census.

As an administrator, Daniel will assist in the management of town departments as well as the implementation of policies and procedures established by the governing body.
The Township was looking for a qualified team builder, collaborator, and strong communicator with strong management and organizational skills, according to officials. Above all, the ideal candidate is a great communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of municipal finances and operations.
The Township had been looking for a new administrator since March when Andrew Coppola announced his resignation. Coppola left the position on April 6.
