Squirrel Caused Long Valley Power Outage: Report

Spend part of Sunday in the dark? You have a squirrel to blame.

LONG VALLEY, NJ β€” Power outages aren't unusual in Long Valley, but the cause of Sunday afternoons was: according to WRNJ, a squirrel is to blame.

A squirrel came into contact with a powerline around noon on Sunday, causing power troubles, a JCP&L spokesperson told the radio station. About 2,300 customers in Long Valley, Hackettstown, and Mansfield were affected by the outages.

Power was back on a short while later. The squirrel did not survive the ordeal.
