135 Luxury Apartments To Replace Vacant Madison School, Property: Report
District receives $12 million in acquisition, report says.

MADISON, N.J. – A decades-old school building that has been shuttered for years will now be redeveloped and immensely benefit the town and school district.
The school building, located on Green Village Road, was sold to KRE Group and Mark Built Homes to become 135 luxury residences on a five-acre site just a few blocks away from the train station, nj.com reported. The sale went through last month for $12 million, with $11 million going to the school district and the remaining $1 million going to the town, the report said.
The school hasn’t been in use since the 1970s.

The district plans to use portions of the $11 million for boilers at three other school buildings, and a new roof at the junior high school, the report said.
