MADISON, N.J. – More than 20 pets rescued from squalor in Ohio have arrived in New Jersey this week, looking for loving owners and friendly homes.
In early December, the Humane Society of the United States rescued 160 animals from a home in Ohio, where dogs and cats were found suffering from a lack of basic care, including being underweight, untreated wounds, broken bones, and various infections, the national organization said.
“These dogs and cats were in a terrible situation – the owner had too many animals and was unable to provide adequate care,” said Corey Roscoe, the Ohio state director for the Humane Society. “It is a huge relief that they will now receive the care and medical attention they so desperately need.”
