2010 Census: Madison Population Continues to Drop
Latino, Asian count increases; African-American population declines.

Madison’s population suffered a narrow decline, to an estimated 15,845 in 2010 from 16,530 in 2000, according to data released today by the Census Bureau.
The count also fell slightly from an estimated 15,659 in 2009, and was the third straight year the Rose City population has declined since 2007, the most recent year-on-year increase.
The Hispanic or Latino population (termed by the Census as a cultural designation, may be any race) swelled to 1,406 from 987 in 2000, the year of the last census. The Asian population grew to 873 from 624, while the population of African-Americans fell to 469 from 496.

According to the 2010 Census, Morris County is the 10th most populous county in the state, with an increase of nearly 22,000 residents over the last 10 years.
