Five Madison Teens Reach Eagle Scout Rank
Five Madison boy scouts reached the highest rank of Eagle Scout at their Court of Honor Ceremony on Saturday.

Five Madison boy scouts reached the highest rank of Eagle Scout at their Court of Honor Ceremony on Saturday, June 20, at the College of St. Elizabeth.
According to The Madison Eagle, those recipients are:
- Jared Donald Finnerty
- Nicholas Alexander Johansen
- Nicholas Joseph Lami
- William Lewis Nixon
- Kevin Valentine Thompson
Over 2.3 million Boy Scouts have reached the rank of Eagle Scout since 1912.

According to Scouting.org, a Boy Scout must meet the following criteria to be considered for an Eagle Scout award:
- Progress through the ranks
- Earn 21 merit badges
- Serve six months in a troop leadership position.
- Plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project for any religious organization or any school or community.
- Take part in a Scoutmaster conference.
- Successfully complete an Eagle Scout board of review.
