ICYMI: Man Arrested For Road Rage Had 24-Inch Machete In Madison

A 20-year-old Jersey City man was arrested in Madison last Friday when he brandished a 24-inch machete during a morning road rage incident.

A 20-year-old Jersey City man was arrested in Madison last Friday when he brandished a 24-inch machete during an early morning road rage incident, according to a report from the Madison Police Department.

Chatham police alerted Madison police to the incident around 8:50 a.m. when they received a report that the man had used the machete in a threatening manner. The man, who was driving a black Nissan at the time of the incident, was later found in the rear of the Madison Plaza Parking lot with the machete in his possession.

He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was later released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Morris County Superior Court.
