Madison Crossing Guard Wins National Award

Mary Marano is no longer just the crossing guard you see on Central Avenue and Brittin St. in Madison - she is the 2015 recipient of the National Crossing Guard of the Year award.

Nominated by her co-worker, Andy Cobb, Marano has worked as a crossing guard for 18 years and is known for remembering the names of students she helps cross the street on a daily basis, according to TAP into Madison.
