Man Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Marijuana At Drew

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Hoboken man was charged with possession of marijuana by Madison police on Thursday night.

Paul Serrano, 20, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped by Drew Public Safety for allegedly possessing the drug. Drew contacted Patrolman Matthew Mirabella, who took Serrano to headquarters for processing. Serrano was released, pending a mandatory court appearance.

  • On Aug. 23 at about 11 p.m., Patrolman Luis Goncalves arrested Ted Dangelo, 42, of Irvington, on the strength of a $500 warrant issued by Madison Municipal Court for failure to appear in court. Goncalves was contacted by the Union Township Police Department, who had Dangelo in custody. Dangelo was taken to headquarters for processing before being sent to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a mandatory court appearance.
  • On Friday at about 10:30 p.m., Patrolman Craig Perrelli arrested Erik Contreras, 27, of White Plains, N.Y., on the strength of a $620 traffic warrant issued by Chatham Borough Municipal Court. Perrelli initially stopped Contreras on Main Street for an alleged cell phone violation. A computer check revealed an active warrant and Contreras was taken to headquarters for processing. Contreras was released to the authorities of Chatham Borough, pending a mandatory court appearance, and was also issued a motor vehicle summons for allegedly operating his vehicle while using a cell phone.
  • On Sunday at about 11:55 p.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested Benji Tiger, 21, of West Orange, and charged him with driving under the influence. Iossa initially stopped Tiger on Danforth Road for allegedly making an improper turn. Tiger was taken to headquarters for processing and released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. Tiger was also issued a motor vehicle summons for allegedly failing to maintain a lane.

The Madison Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 18 medical emergencies last week. The Madison Police Department investigated nine motor vehicle crashes during the same period.
