Man Tries Stealing $1,900 in Merchandise from Whole Foods

A Borough man was caught allegedly trying to shoplift nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from Whole Foods Market.

A Borough man was caught trying to shoplift nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from Whole Foods Market last month.

Andrei Gross, 68, of Madison, is facing charges of shoplifting after police responded to investigate a shoplifting incident at the Whole Foods Market on Thursday, May 14, Madison Police said.

After arriving at the scene, Madison Police Officer Joseph DiRocco learned from the store’s loss prevention department that Gross allegedly attempted to exit the store with $1,900 worth of store merchandise, authorities said.

Gross was charged with one count of third-degree shoplifting and was later released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
