Morris County College to Offer Workshop to Empower Women

The Women's Center at the College will offer a 12 week course to help women develop the skills to transition and improve self esteem.

The Women’s Center at County College of Morris is planning a workshop series titled, “Empowerment!,” a 12-week course designed to help women develop the skills and self esteem needed to transition to new beginnings.

The Empowerment! course is open to women whose ultimate goal is to find a new career or employment, coupled with a desire to increase their self-esteem, coping skills, and professional or personal self-concept.

“Empowerment!” focuses on the following life skills to enhance the ability to develop and reach an individual’s goals. These life skills include: stress management, self-esteem, self-leadership, self-management, motivation, overcoming obstacles, goal setting, communication skills, and presentation skills.

The workshop will address these life-enhancing skills through production-centered lessons and connected learning. The innovative modalities, which include theater arts techniques, interactive exercises, and other experiential lessons, help participants to engage as creators and co-educators.

Empowerment! is sponsored by The Women’s Center at County College of Morris. The course will be held once a week on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., from Jan. 20 to April 14. Please note: a one-hour orientation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. Attendance at each session is mandatory.

Empowerment! was created and is facilitated by Jeanne Rohach, a Certified Women’s Empowerment Coach and Consultant. Rohach has 12 years experience creating and facilitating workshops covering a wide range of topics related to proactive living and has been working with clients of the Women’s Center since 2011.
