Outdoor Skating Rink Remains Closed In Madison
Despite what last weekend's weather may have suggested, the Rosedale Skating Pond is not open to skaters.

MADISON, NJ — Despite the cold temperatures that fell over Madison this past week, the Rosedale Skating Pond is still closed to all skaters.
Officials advise not attempting to skate or play on the rink and staying off the ice for your own safety.
The Rosedale skating rink, located next to the Madison Community Pool, is a fun way for residents to stay active during the winter months. However, so far this winter, the rink has only been open for a short period of time.

Skating on the rink is only permitted when the flag is raised, as skating when the rink is closed can result in damage to the surface and jeopardize future availability, officials said.
Despite the fact that the rink is now closed, temperatures in the area are expected to drop again next weekend. The low for next Saturday is expected to be in the low 20s, according to the National Weather Service.

Skaters are advised to avoid the ice during warm weather or when it is maturing, as it can become unstable and thus dangerous.
