Police Blotter: Man Caught in Auto Scam
Though he didn't have an auto body license or a business, he told residents he could make repairs, then over charged and didn't finish the job.

On June 16, police arrested David Nicholas, 29 of Kearny, and charged him with possession of prescription narcotics. Nicholas was initially stopped after he matched the description of a suspect that was offering victims auto body repairs and painting. He would then over charge them and not complete the proper job. It was then determined that he was in possession of narcotics. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, he was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. David Nicholas also goes by the alias of David Klien. He is a white 29-year-old male, and is 5-10, 200 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. He was operating a silver and gray jeep, with New Jersey license plate IM27RD. Nicholas would approach victims as they exited stores on Main Street. He would then offer to do work to their vehicle either in parking lots or at their home. Nicholas does not have a licensed business and does not have a proper auto body state license. Anyone who may have been a victim of this scam please contact Detective Paul Kosakowski at 973-593-3007.
On June 19, police arrested Ashlee Traynor, 24 of Bedminster, and charged her with shoplifting. Police were called to a liquor store on Main Street and were alerted by store security that Traynor walked out of the store with beer and liquor without paying. Police determined she was shoplifting. She was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On June 16, police arrested Anthony Sproviero, 21 of Chatham, on the strength of a $289 warrant issued by Morris Township Municipal Court. Police ran a computer check on Sproviero's license and were alerted that there was a warrant for his arrest. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released on bail pending a mandatory court appearance.

On June 17, police arrested Thomas Dailey, 28 of Whippany, on the strength of traffic and criminal warrants issued by Madison Municipal Court. Police were contacted by the Paterson Police Department who had Dailey in their custody. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
On June 19, police arrested Michael Emen, 24 of Livingston, and charged him with driving under the influence. Police initially stopped Emen for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined he was driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a family member. Emen was also issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding.
