Police Blotter: Man Had Six Bags of Marijuana

Multiple charges levied, including possession with intent to distribute.

On Aug. 4, police arrested Christopher P. Pollio, 27 of Dover, and charged him with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public park, possession of drug paraphernalia, controlled dangerous substance  in a motor vehicle, careless driving and having an expired inspection sticker. Police had stopped Pollio on Madison Avenue for an improper turn and, once stopped, detected the odor of marijuana. After a brief investigation, Pollio was found to be in possession of six bags of suspected marijuana. He was ultimately arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was remanded to the Morris County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

On Aug. 4, police arrested Daniel Ortiz, 30 of Madison, and charged him with simple assault following a family dispute. Police were summonsed to his residence on a report of a dispute in progress. After a brief investigation Ortiz was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released R.O.R. pending his court appearance.

On Aug. 6, police arrested Brian P. Cahill, 47 of Paterson, on the strength of a $250 Madison warrant. Cahill was held by the Paramus Police on the strength of the Madison warrant. Cahill was ultimately transported to the Morris County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Aug.7, police arrested Michael E. Conoran, 25 of Dover, on the strength of a $1,000 Rockaway Twp. warrant and an $81 Montville warrant. Police had stopped Conoran on Route 24 for an equipment violation when the warrants were discovered. After posting bail, Conoran was issued summons for driving with a suspended driver's license, obstructed vision and having a cracked windshield.

On Aug. 8, police arrested Philip E. Decyk, 25 of Morristown, on the strength of a $450 Morristown warrant. Police randomly ran Decyk license plate and discovered that his driver's license was currently suspended. Decyk was stopped for this violation on Route 24 where the warrant was also discovered. Decyk was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. He was later released after posting bail and additionally charged with driving while suspended, unregistered vehicle, failure to inspect and driving with a suspended registration.

On Aug. 10, police arrested Florham Park residents Ryan S. Fitzpatrick, 18, Michael A. Vespa, 18, and a third 17-year-old juvenile for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. While on patrol in the area Summerhill Park, the officers encounter an occupied car in the parking area. As the officers walked up to the vehicle to investigate they could see the occupants rolling up the windows. As they walked closer they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The above occupants were ultimately found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested. After processing, the two 18 year olds were released ROR while the juvenile was released to his parent. Michael Vespa was additionally charged with possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

On Aug. 11, police arrested Adam Krzystek, 47 of Madison, and charged him with simple assault following a family dispute. Police had encountered the victim while outside police headquarters and after a brief investigation charged Krzystek with assault. Krzystek later turned himself in and was released ROR after processing.
