Police Blotter: Pair Charged with Passing Fraudulent Checks at Stop & Shop

Police also charge 20-year-old Madison resident with burglary and theft.

On July 2, police arrested Jared Dill, 21 of Summit, and William Stanek, 25 of New Providence and charged them with check forgery and embezzlement. Police determined that Dill and Stanek had entered Stop & Shop on three separated occasions and passed fraudulent checks. Stanek was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 dollars bail pending a mandatory court appearance. Dill was processed at the Union County Correctional Facility, were he was being held on fraud charges. His bail was set at $20,000 dollars pending a mandatory court appearance.

On July 2, police arrested Dylan Conmy, 20 of Madison, and charged him with burglary and theft from a home. Police conducted an investigation after a residential home owner reported their house had been broken into while they were away. He determined that Conmy had entered the home, stealing jewelry and checks. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $50,000 dollars pending a mandatory court appearance.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 20 medical emergencies during the past week.
