Madison Candidates Cast Primary Votes as Polling Continues Until 8 p.m.
Two Republicans, one Democrat on respective ballots; Two seats on council up for grabs come November general election.
UPDATED AT 6:52 p.m.–Polling locations throughout the borough opened today at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. for the primary election.
In Madison, two names are on the ballot for a pair of Borough Council seats on Republican primary ballots, and one name on Democratic primary ballots.
Incumbent council member and current council president Jeannie Tsukamoto is joined on the Republican primary ballot by Rob Catalanello. The lone Democrat who submitted a petition to run on the Democratic ballot was Bob McDowell.

The two seats for council are for expiring terms currently held by Tsukamoto and Democrat Astri Baillie. Baillie announced in early March that she would not be running for what would have been her fourth term.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Tsukamoto arrived at New Life Fellowship at 203 Green Ave. around noon to vote alongside husband Andrew and daughter Amanda. New Life Fellowship is the polling location for Districts 1 and 9.
Catalanello voted in the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library at 39 Keep St., polling location for Districts 5 and 13, around 6 p.m. with wife Brenda, daughter Isabel, and son Peter by his side.
McDowell voted at 7 a.m. at North Star Athletic Club located at 95 North St., the polling site for Districts 2, 4 and 10.
In Morris County races, 11 Republicans are vying for three spots in the general election for the Morris County Freeholders race.
Incumbents Douglas Cabana, Jack Schrier and James Murray are running and are being challenged by Ann Grossi, John Krickus, Tom Mastrangelo, Gary Steele, Jason Cullen, Joseph Sirvent Jr., Christine Myers and Charles Germershausen. Democrats Susan Buttros, Steven Reichenstein and Avery Hart are running uncontested.
In the county sheriff election, incumbent Edward Rochford is being challenged by Steven Olimpio for the Republican nomination. Democrat Mark Dombrowski is running uncontested.
Richard Luzzi is challenging incumbent Rodney Frelinghuysen in a Republican primary in New Jersey's 11th congressional district. Chatham Borough resident Douglas Herbert faces James Kelly in the district's Democratic primary.
