Town-Wide Yard Sale For Madison, Chatham Coming This Spring
The Great Swamp Watershed Association will share a map of yard-sale participants and which items are available at each location.
MADISON, NJ — If the weather is any indication, spring is just around the corner, which means it's almost time for the Madison and Chathams' Town-Wide Yard Sale.
The date for this year's event, which benefits the Great Swamp Watershed Association, was recently announced by the Borough of Madison.
The event will be held rain or shine on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Chatham Borough, Chatham Township and Madison.

This event is a fundraiser for the Great Swamp Watershed Association. Residents can list their sales on a digital map for a $10 tax-deductible donation to Great Swamp Watershed Association.
Chatham and Madison residents can still hold sales without registering. But paying the registration fee gets your home on the yard sale map.

The town-wide sales attract shoppers from across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, according to the Great Swamp Watershed Association.
Last spring, more than 100 Chatham and Madison residents took part in the town-wide yard sale, raising more than $1,000 for the Great Swamp Watershed Association.
“For those keeping score—and we are—the past three Town-Wide Yard Sales have raised over $3000 for our environmental work,” said Valerie Thorpe, Director of Communications and Membership at GSWA. “Of note, some who had already registered ended up having to cancel their sale, and without exception, they insisted we keep the registration fee as a donation to GSWA.”
