UPDATE: School Closings, Delays

Another snow storm hit the region late Sunday night and into Monday morning, causing schools to make a decision to open or close.

Madison Public Schools announced that all schools in the district will be closed and all activities cancelled on Monday, Feb. 2., due to inclement weather.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning, effective 7 p.m. Sunday, and will expire at 1 p.m. Monday.

The snowfall will create hazardous travel conditions overnight and into Monday, according to the NWS. “The wintry precipitation is forecast to have a significant impact on the Monday morning commute,” the winter storm warning said. Additionally, tumbling temperatures on Monday afternoon are expected to cause any standing water on roadways to refreeze.
