Patch's 100th Launch a Morris 4th
Milestone gives us a chance to look at Madison Patch's first 9 1/2 months.

This past week was a big one for Patch in general. We celebrated our third sibling in Morris County, Morristown, which more importantly marked the 100th site in our history. It gave us a chance to reflect on our time in Madison over the past 9 1/2 months, from the beginning through this week, when things like a car through the UPS Store captured the headlines.
On Monday, we told you about that car, driven by a Madison resident, which crashed through the front of the UPS Store. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. We also reviewed the latest production at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, "No Man's Land." You found out about a trial triathlon that residents participated in at the Madison Area YMCA. We also told you about how Madison congressional district challenger Douglas Herbert spoke to residents of the 11th district.
On Tuesday, we told you about the 100th Patch launch, nearby Morristown, and we took the chance to tell you a bit about our overall history, especially about our own here at Madison Patch. We told you about the construction project to help improve Brooklake Road, and how Chatham Borough would be to the project. We also told you about how the Madison High School field hockey team's historic victory against West Essex was going to be televised on MSG Varsity as part of its look at the best games in the tri-state area this past school year. Finally, we told you how Rich Holden, executive director of the Dow Jones News Fund–and husband of Madison Mayor Mary-Anna Holden, received a special award and gave a speech telling how not to get a job in journalism–or elsewhere.

On Wednesday, we told you how a man who was arrested after hitting gas pumps at the Shell station would only identify himself to Madison police as "Spartacus." We also gave you our latest profile in our series on Madison Community Pool lifeguards, this time featuring Meredith Claytor in "View from the Chair." Finally, we broke down the Sustainable Jersey points system, helping you understand what Madison will need to do to get certification.
On Thursday, we told you how a man was arrested in Madison after police found he was in possession of six bags of marijuana. We also brought you a gallery of dogs and their human counterparts enjoying ice cream at a social hosted by St. Hubert's to help save animals' lives. You got a chance to see some spectacular views from a helicopter, including a few of the Jets' neighboring training facility in an editor's notebook. You also saw how Patch, and yours truly, helped give back to the communities we serve to honor our 100th launch.

On Friday, we told you where the best events in the borough were going to be held this weekend in our Rose Guide. We also told you if Madison Farmers Market vendors and consumers thought the heirloom tomato was worth the hype it's received. Finally, we told you where those looking to move into or inside the borough could find open houses in Madison.
