This Bergen County Town Ranks Among Nation's Most Expensive

A recent study from PropertyShark ranked median home sale prices and listed one Bergen County zip code among the country's wealthiest.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A zip code in Bergen County ranked among the country's most expensive for the seventh consecutive year, according to a Top 100 list released by PropertyShark.

Alpine's 07620 placed No. 66 with a $2.18 million median sales price, and is one of four zips in New Jersey that appeared on the list — a new record for the state, the real estate data source said on its website.

Just 15 miles from Midtown Manhattan, Alpine was finally outpriced last year by Deal's 07723, which ranked No. 58 with a $2.3 million median.

Monmouth County's Deal dethroned Alpine, formerly New Jersey's priciest zip since 2016, and took its place on the list. Alpine fell eight spots compared to 2021, yet still had an increase in median sales price from last year's $2 million.

Alpine, similar to 86% of zips on the list, experienced a price increase, in a year when the "overall U.S. housing market saw sales drop and price growth slow," PropertyShark said.
