Man Assaulted and Robbed on Jacoby Street

A Maplewood resident was assaulted and robbed in the 100 block of Jacoby Street while walking home from the bus stop last week, according to the Maplewood Police Department.

The man had gotten off the bus at Springfield Avenue and Boyden Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 6 and was walking to his house when he was hit from behind and robbed of his iPhone and IPod, said Detective Lt. Michael Marucci.

Several Bikes Stolen from Train Station

Four bikes were reported stolen from the Maplewood Train Station in the last month, according to police. So far, none of the bikes have been recovered.

"We've had problems over the last few years," said Det. Lt. Michael Marucci, "but this is particularly bad."

Maplewood marked the eleventh anniversary of the September 11 attacks, and many residents remembered the loss that struck one Maplewood family.

 

Cell Phones Stolen at High School Football Game

Two cheerleaders reported that cell phones were stolen from their handbags during last week's Columbia High School varsity football game at Underhill Field, said the Maplewood Police.
