Car Hits Pedal Cycle Rider In Maplewood, Leaves Scene: Police
A car hit the cyclist as they were crossing the intersection, police said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A car hit a pedal cyclist in Maplewood on Wednesday and left the scene before police arrived, authorities say.
According to the Maplewood Police Department, officers responded to Boyden Avenue and Springfield Avenue after getting a report that a pedal cycle bike rider had been struck by a car.
Police said that a black SUV hit the cyclist as they were crossing the intersection. The SUV then left the scene.

South Essex firefighters and EMS crews evaluated and treated the cyclist for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The cyclist declined transport to the hospital, authorities said.
