Schools Chief Considers Options, Memorial Park Master Plan This Week

A look at what's coming up this week in Maplewood.

The biggest story in the two towns is whether South Orange - Maplewood School District Superintendent Brian Osborne will accept a job in Michigan. Osborne was offered the job on Friday and is said to be "carefully considering" it. Patch will follow this story.

Also, some big changes may be ahead for Maplewood's much-used and beloved Memorial Park. The Maplewood Historic Preservation Commission will host a public meeting on ideas and proposals for a Master Plan for Memorial Park at the Community Room of the Burgdorff Center, 10 Durand Road, Maplewood on Thursday from 5- 8 p.m. For more information, see this Patch article.

On Wednesday, the MHPC hosts its regular meeting at 8 p.m. On the agenda: a public hearing on landmark designation of the former Maplewood Women’s Club Building.
