SUMMIT, NJ – December 22, 2024, Sam Kelly, 14, of Maplewood, New Jersey, will play the star roles of “Fritz” and “Waltz of the Flowers Garland” in this year’s full-length production of New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble’s (NJDTE) holiday classic: THE NUTCRACKER. Sam, the son of Caroline and Hugh Kelly, currently attends Our Lady of Sorrows School.

NJDTE celebrates its 55th Season of the full-length production of THE NUTCRACKER. Set to the classical music of Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographed by NJDTE Artistic Director, Nancy Turano, the ballet features 64 talented pre-professional dancers from New Jersey alongside international guest artists from Ballet Hispanico, Complexions former NJ Ballet Stars and Alumni of NJDTE.

Sam is a very talented dancer who has both technical and artistic ability, which makes him a standout on stage. He is a very strong dancer with a powerful presence who embodies the role of Fritz in the Nutcracker. This past summer Sam supplemented his training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in addition to his year-round training at NJDTE. Sam is someone to look out for in the future. We look forward to watching him continue to grow as a dancer.” says Artistic Director Nancy Turano

All performances take place at The Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
