"In compliance with New Jersey state law, an advance notice of the DWI checkpoints must be given to the public," said Old Bridge Police. "This advance notice hopefully discourages members of the public from drinking and driving."
The DWI checkpoints are funded by a Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day grant, which collects money from fines and penalties assessed to drivers who are found guilty of driving while intoxicated.
