4 Cats Died, 5 People Injured, 10 Apartments Destroyed In Fire In This NJ Community
The fire broke out at 9:20 p.m. on Rellim Drive in the Madison Arms apartments, and rose to four-alarm status.
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Five people were injured and four cats died in an Old Bridge apartment fire Monday night, according to authorities.
The fire started at 9:20 p.m. in a ground-floor apartment at Building 3 on Rellim Drive at the Madison Arms apartments in Old Bridge. However, the flames spread rapidly and a total of 10 apartments were destroyed in the fire.
The fire rose to fourth-alarm status and there were calls of multiple people trapped inside burning apartments, according to the Old Bridge Twp. Office of Emergency Management.

Five people were hospitalized and one police officer was treated for smoke inhalation, according to News 12. Four cats also died in the fire.
“It was bad. It spread quick. I heard screaming from the tenants who live on the first floor, nice people, all of them are nice people, and the flames were shooting out," one resident told News 12.
