Aberdeen Contractor Stole Upfront Payments; There May Be More Victims, Police Say
Lance Minnoia is charged with two counts of theft by deception. Aberdeen Police are looking for anyone who may have used him.
ABERDEEN, NJ — The Aberdeen Police Department is currently investigating multiple complaints about an HVAC contractor who customers say accepted deposits for work that was never completed.
Several residents have reported that the contractor, Lance Minnoia, accepted substantial upfront payments for HVAC services — often for installations or repairs — and then failed to return to complete the job, said police.
In some cases, Minnoia ceased all communication after receiving the deposit, said police.

To date, Minnoia has been charged with two counts of theft by deception.
The Aberdeen Police Department urges any residents who believe they may have been a victim of this contractor to come forward and file a report.

“This type of activity not only causes financial harm but also erodes trust within the community,” said Aberdeen Police Chief Matthew Lloyd. “We are committed to thoroughly investigating this matter and holding anyone accountable who is found to be engaging in fraudulent behavior.”

Residents are also reminded to always verify contractors’ credentials, check references, and avoid paying large sums upfront when contracting for home repairs or installations.
