Aberdeen Police: Cell Phone, iPad Reported Stolen from Local Apartments

A look at recent police activity in Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 278 calls for service between June 26 and July 2, 2013, according to Police Chief John Powers. The incidents included 10 suspicious persons or vehicles, 33 alarms, 12 first aid calls, 16 motor vehicle crashes, two thefts, four domestic violence incidents, five disorderly persons, six noise complaints, one assault, two burglaries, two fights, four criminal mischief incidents and 75 motor vehicle stops. Officers also issued 73 motor vehicle summonses.

Here is a look at some of the police activity that occurred, as reported by Powers:

  • On June 26 a 2007 white Ford box truck was reported stolen from Flexi-Lease, Hwy. 35. Officer Christopher DeSarno responded.

  • On June 26 a Perrineville woman reported her vehicle was damaged while parked on Woodmere Dr. Officer Anthony Marone took the report.

  • Sometime between June 17 and June 27 someone entered an abandoned home on Cliffwood Avenue through a rear window and removed copper pipe with an estimated value of $10,000. Officer Anthony Marone investigated.

  • On June 30 a resident of Matawan Terrace apartments reported someone entered his apartment and took a cell phone and other personal items.  Officer Roger Peter investigated.

  • On June 30 a resident of Ken Gardens apartments, Matawan Avenue, reported someone took her Ipad 2 from her apartment. Officer Mary Johnston investigated.

  • On June 30 a Ridge Road resident reported that on June 21 a male subject entered his shed and removed a leaf blower, tool box, car jack, and battery charger. Officer Mary Johnston took the report.

  • Officer John Young responded to a report of an assault on Charm Court on July 1.

  • On July 1 a 2008 Toyota was reported stolen from a driveway on Gordon Street. It was later found in the parking lot of Ken Garden apartments on Matawan Avenue. Officer Roger Peter investigated.
