Free Halloween Costume Swap Oct. 2 In Aberdeen; Drop Off Costumes Now

Before you spend money at a Spirit Halloween, check out a wonderful (and free) "costume swap" hosted by the Monmouth County Parks System:

ABERDEEN, NJ — Do you have old Halloween costumes lying around in your house? Of course you do!

Before you go out and spend a bunch of money at a Spirit Halloween store this fall, check out a wonderful "costume swap" the Monmouth County Parks System hosts every year in early fall.

Here's how it works: Drop off a costume on any of the below dates, and you will get a token entitling you to a new costume on the day of the swap. Costume drop-offs will be accepted Monday-Saturday, September 26-October 1 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls
  • Huber Woods Environmental Center, Middletown
  • Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell
  • Thompson Park Visitor Center, Lincroft

You then redeem your token at the costume swap, which will be held Sunday, October 2 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Freneau Woods Park Visitor Center, Aberdeen.

Almost due or have a newborn? No token required for baby’s costume. Costumes are only available during the swap date and time. Unused tokens may be used at the next year’s swap.
