Maintenance Worker Stole From Old Bridge Apartments: Police

Police say while he was inside Parkwood apts. performing maintenance, he stole residents' cash and jewelry; he stole $200K in valuables.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — This man who worked as a maintenance worker is accused by police of burglarizing several apartments in the London Terrace/Parkwood apartment complexes.

Old Bridge Police were alerted to several residential burglaries in the London Terrace/Parkwood apartments, said police. After a lengthy investigation, detectives identified Juan Espinoza-Garcia, 43, of Old Bridge as a suspect.

Police say Garcia was employed as a maintenance worker for the apartment complex. While performing maintenance in the apartments, he would steal the resident's cash and jewelry. Garcia would then pawn the jewelry at surrounding pawn shops.

As of this date, the amount of stolen jewelry and cash exceeds $200,000, said Old Bridge Police.

Espinoza-Garcia was charged with six counts each of: Theft of Movable Property, Burglary by Entering a Structure, Possession of Property from Criminal Activity, Dealing in Stolen Property and Receiving Stolen Property.
