Man Sexually Abused Daughter For Years, Abuse Started In Sayreville

Police say the sex acts against the girl began in 2016, when Andrey V. Penkin, 51, lived in Sayreville.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A man who now lives in Marlboro Township was sentenced last week to 45 years in state prison for sexually and physically abusing his daughter over the course of more than six years, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

The man is Andrey V. Penkin, 51, of Marlboro. Police say the sex acts against the girl began in 2016, when the father-daughter lived in Sayreville. Police say he sexually abused his daughter starting when she was 11 and continuing to age 17.

The sex abuse started when they lived in Sayreville and continued at their next two homes, in East Brunswick and Marlboro. A spokesman for the prosecutor declined to answer when asked if other family members, such as the girl's mother, lived with them.

In early 2023, after discovering his daughter had a friend’s pack of cigarettes, Penkin physically assaulted her, giving her a severe concussion and related facial injuries.

Penkin was arrested in April 2023. At trial, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's team presented medical records, witness testimony and physical evidence, including the girl's diary, to prove its case.

Penkin was convicted in September 2024 — after about 80 minutes of jury deliberation — of two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, second-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He must serve a minimum of 37 years of his 45-year prison sentence.

“The victim in this case endured years of unimaginably cruel abuse from a person who was supposed to rank high among her most trusted sources of love and protection,” said Monmouth County Prosecutor Santiago.
