Matawan Aberdeen Board of Education to Vote on Tentative Budget Monday

The board will hold a special action meeting Monday, March 4.

The Matawan Aberdeen Board of Education will hold a special action meeting Monday night to vote on a tentative budget for the 2013-14 school year. 

The 2013-14 tentative budget calls for $68,145,682 in total expenditures, including approximately $2.4 million in debt service, according to an agenda posted on the district website. The district anticipates $19,519,020 in revenues, including $12,104,708 in aid from the state. This would result in a total of $48,626,662 to be raised by taxes.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the administrative offices on Crest Way in Aberdeen. There will be a presentation on the tentative budget during the meeting, which is typically led by the school business administrator. The public is welcome to attend this special action meeting and there will be time for public comment.

If the board approves the tentative budget, it will be submitted to the Monmouth County Executive County Superintendent of Schools for review.

Additionally, a public hearing on the budget will be held on March 21 at 7 p.m. at the administrative building located on Crest Way in Aberdeen.
