Matawan Man Charged With Breaking Into Main Street Businesses

Robert J. Sullo, 43, allegedly broke into Hair Illusions and A Little Bit of Everything

Police have charged a Matawan man with theft and resisting arrest after he allegedly broke into two Main Street businesses this week and attempted to escape police.

Robert J. Sullo, 43, allegedly broke into Hair Illusions and A Little Bit of Everything early Sunday morning, damaging doors and cash registers while robbing the stores, police said.

Sullo is charged with taking lottery scratch off tickets, a cash register, cigarettes, cash and over-the-counter medicines from A Little Bit of Everything, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Joint Municipal Court of Hazlet, Matawan and Keyport.

He is charged with taking cologne, a cash register, cash, and professional hair clippers from Hair Illusions, the complaint reads.

When an officer attempted to place Sullo under arrest, he allegedly ran and resisted officer control, according to the complaint.

Bail for Sullo was set at $47,500, no ten percent option, and he remains in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, according to inmate records.
