Matawan Police Say Drunk Driving Was Cause Of 5-Car Accident Saturday Night On Main Street
Matawan Police say a 61-year-old Perth Amboy man was driving while intoxicated when he caused a five-car accident Saturday evening.
MATAWAN, NJ — Matawan Police say a 61-year-old Perth Amboy man was driving while intoxicated when he caused a five-car accident Saturday evening on Main Street.
The five-car pile-up occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Rt. 34 and Main Street. Five cars were involved, and one person was trapped in their car.
Matawan Police, Fire, Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad and Hackensack Meridian EMS freed the trapped person, who was taken to a nearby hospital.

Ermi Villanueva, 61, of Perth Amboy, was arrested at the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to submit to Breathalyzer tests and other motor vehicle summonses.
