New Park Opens On Fayette Street In Perth Amboy

The new park, perfect for seniors to relax in, used to be the site of the former County Department of Public Works garage.​

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — On Tuesday, Middlesex County and Perth Amboy officials celebrated the long-awaited grand opening of the new pocket park on Fayette Street in Perth Amboy.

This used to be the site of the former County Department of Public Works garage.

The new park has many amenities, including a gazebo, picnic areas, outdoor chess tables, electric car and scooter charging stations, bike racks, benches, a stage with a projector screen and landscaped areas.

Fayette Street Pocket Park is in a residential area near a senior building in Perth Amboy, and it is the perfect spot for seniors to relax and enjoy time outdoors, especially in the warm weather.

This park was built by the county and city of Perth Amboy: In November 2021, Middlesex County and Perth Amboy announced plans to transform the former County Department of Public Works garage on Fayette Street into a pocket park. Middlesex County spent $1.7 million to create the park.
