NJ Man Charged In String Of Aberdeen Car Burglaries: Police
The burglaries occurred in the early morning hours of June 29 in the area of Atlantic Avenue, police said.
ABERDEEN, NJ — An Elizabeth man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of car burglaries that occurred in late June, the Aberdeen Township Police Department said.
Michael Correa-Galeno, 24, was charged with theft, criminal attempt, and multiple counts of burglary, police said.
Correa-Galeno was arrested following a string of car burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours of June 29.

According to authorities, victims in the Atlantic Avenue area reported a number of unlocked vehicles entered and personal belongings stolen.
Surveillance footage, alongside a joint operation with the Matawan Police Department and Spring Lake Police Department, aided in solving the series of car burglaries and led to Correa-Galeno being identified as the suspect.

Correa-Galeno was subsequently lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending future court proceedings.
The Aberdeen Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables to help deter crimes of opportunity.
